I’m really glad that we ended our China trip in Hong Kong because I think it was much more impressive after seeing Mainland China. Highlights of our time in Hong Kong included the Big Buddha Statue, Hong Kong LDS Temple, and the Hong Kong Park!
Big Buddha was so much BIGGER than I had even expected! It was a little rainy and very windy while we were there which made the tram ride to the top very exciting! It was cloudy so you couldn’t see the beautiful city from the top but I didn’t mind too much because the cloudy weather made for great pictures!
We were there on the weekend so most touristy things were very crowded. We spent a few hours in line coming too and from the Big Buddha and didn’t even get to see Victoria Peak because the line was too long! We ended up going to the nearby Hong Kong Park and we loved walking around there! We went through the aviary and walked by a few ponds with hundreds of turtles. I’m an animal lover so that was all really exciting for me! There is also a lookout from the park which gave us a nice view of the city! I wish we could have gone to Victoria Peak but the park was way better than standing in line for 5 hours.
If I were to go back, I would schedule to spend weekdays in Hong Kong and I would try to get in line for the Big Buddha and Victoria Peak tram rides very early in the day.
