I can’t believe Thanksgiving is NEXT week! It seems so crazy to me that it is already mid-November.
When we got home at the end of August I could not wrap my head around how late in the year it was. It was as if time had stood still while we were in Thailand and I just felt like summer should be starting- not ending! I was having some some serious denial about summer already being over and I was dreading colder weather and shorter days.
Lucky for me, this has been one of the warmest Fall seasons on record in Utah! So while most people are wanting the weather to cool down so that they can start to bundle up and wear their cute sweaters, I’m over here doing a happy dance and soaking up every minute of the sunshine. My heart just needed a little more time to enjoy the beautiful outdoors (sans coats) and catch up on some of the activities we missed this summer.
Here are some highlights from Sumall (summer/fall… get it?)
Jackson Hole with the Family
Right after we got home, I went to spend Labor Day weekend with my family and we spent some time in Jackson Hole. These pictures are from our hike around Jenny Lake. Wyoming is SO beautiful. I was just in awe the whole time! I think I was able to appreciate it even more than usual because the scenery in Thailand is so much different. The jagged mountains and the smell of pine trees made me so happy.
We got Maggie on Labor Day and she seriously has been such a great dog. We are so happy to have her. I’m going to try not to sound like that crazy dog lady… but I just really like having Maggie and Lucy. We are home all day long so they really keep us company and I’ve already learned a lot as I’ve worked with Maggie. Right now my goal is to train her to be a therapy dog and so far she is doing great!
Photographing the Fall Colors
Fall is a photographers dream! When the colors were more vibrant, Matt and I tried to be outside with our camera as much as possible. We love living so close to Provo and American Fork Canyon and going up the canyon is our favorite thing to do! We even got a chance to take family pictures for my dear friend and I’m so happy she let us experiment on them. Turns out taking pictures of little kids is not easy (Ha!) but Matt and I had a lot of fun taking them.
I’ve really only been to a handful of concerts in my life so it’s kind of a big deal that we went to 2 concerts this fall! We saw Coldplay and Mumford and Sons and both were AMAZING! Although I kinda wish we had seen Mumford and Sons before Coldplay because they are a tough act to follow. I pray that this wasn’t their last tour because I need to see them again and next time I won’t be so stingy about getting the cheapest seats in the house. I just didn’t understand how a concert could be worth a couple hundred dollars, but now I do. Seriously, take all my money! haha
