September was such a fun (but hard) month for us! In the picture above I was 37 weeks pregnant and so ready to be done. Those last few weeks of pregnancy are ROUGH but Matt and I really tried to make the most of it! We kept busy getting everything ready for Adelyn and tried to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather as much as possible! Matt got tickets to the OneRepublic concert back in the early stages of my pregnancy and I had my doubts about going to a concert so close to my due date but I’m so glad we did- even if I was having contractions through the whole thing! It was the perfect summer night at the USANA and I loved seeing one of our favorite bands perform.
One weekend I was DYING to drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon and explore a bit. We tried one Saturday and drove all the way up to the base of the canyon (about a 1 hour drive for us) only to find out it was completely CLOSED for a race.
Then we decided to go to the Utah State Fair instead since we were kind of in the area. We literally drove into the parking lot and then decided it wasn’t worth all the money and turned around and left. So instead we ended up just driving to City Creek to have lunch and went home.
It was all a bit disappointing but the next day we headed back to Big Cottonwood and I finally got my hike around Silver Lake 🙃Maggie just being the sweetest dog in the world. Matt soaking it up. Definitely not the best picture, but I had to document hiking the Y while 39 weeks pregnant. I was SURE it would put me into labor but instead I just got a killer workout. I felt pretty proud of myself for doing a hike that was hard for me even pre-pregnancy and it wasn’t even too much of a struggle! Last date night pre-baby. We went to our favorite spot- Sundance- and walked around and enjoyed our favorite spot, just like we have done for the last few years. I love having sentimental places where you can go and have a flood of memories come back. Sundance will always be that place for us. Last belly picture!! Of course the highlight of September was giving birth to our sweet baby girl. You can read more about Adelyn’s birth HERE. You can see more formal newborn pictures of Addy HERE but these are some of my favorite casual pictures during her first week of life.
Looking back on these pictures, I can’t believe how much she has grown already! She doesn’t even fit in any of these outfits anymore. Her hair has also lightened up a bit and is starting to fall out but those cheeks are still killer. Baby Girl getting her ECG after some issues with low oxygen levels and blue spells. Thankfully the problem was caused by a little whole in her heart that would heal on its own and nothing more serious. We all felt so much relief after getting answers but boy was it a scary experience!
Overall, September was a pretty spectacular month. My patience was tested, my faith was strengthened, my heart expanded, and our family grew. We are so grateful to have Addy with us!
