Adelyn Rose at 1 Month
October 22, 2017- November 22, 2017
I feel like both of these pictures really sums up Addy’s 2nd month of life. She is sassy and she is sweet and boy do we love her!! We are seeing little glimpses of her personality as she starts to smile and seems to recognize our faces.
At 2 months Addy weighs 12 lbs, 4 ounce (73rd percentile), is 1’11” tall (66 percentile) and her head circumference is in the 97th percentile!!! She is wearing 0-3 month clothing (I cried when I had to put her newborn clothes away) and is in size 1 diapers.
Things I want to remember about this stage:
-Her smile! It makes all those long days worth it when I see that little smirk
-Sleeping with her hands by her face
-Throwing her hands in the air and making a sqeaky little gasp. At first it scared me but now I just think it’s so cute!
-How much she loves the car
-Also loves bath time
-Bouncing her on the exercise ball all day, every day
-Trying everything to establish some sort of schedule with no luck
-Our sweet nighttime feedings- just me and her
-She is so temperamental about her binky- sometimes she loves it and sometimes hates it
-Sleeping anywhere and all the time!
-How easy going she has been on all of our outings
-Fantom-binky sucking while asleep
-Cute/rough baby acne phase. Thankfully it only lasted a couple weeks!
-Chunky thighs and arm rolls
-How she ususlly hates cuddling but always falls asleep on dads shoulder
-Her goopy eye
-Daily diaper blowouts
-Hates tummy time
At least once a day Matt and I will turn to each other and say “She is such a good baby!” Because for the most part, she is! Night time is her weakness- she gets so fussy and it’s hard to get her down. We have learned the secret is bouncing her on an exercise ball. It sounds crazy but it works every time. She loves it!
Once she is down for the night, she sleeps great. I usually have to wake her up for feedings, not the other way around. During the day she is as sweet as can be and sleeps a lot. I have WAYYYY too many pictures to share of her sleeping but I can’t handle it. She’s just SO. DANG. CUTE.
As you can tell from the pictures, she loves having her hands by her face and hates being swaddled. At first I was kind of stressed about not swaddling her and was convinced that we just HAD to get her to like it- but now I’ve just quit trying because she still sleeps great without it.
This little also LOVES her daddy and it’s not hard to see why. Matthew took to being a dad so naturally and I’m so excited too see their relationship blossom over the next few years.
It took me a few weeks to get over the anxiety of getting out of the house with Addy, but now I love taking her everywhere. It’s so fun to always have this cute little buddy with me.
I’m convinced that September is the most perfect time to have a baby because there are so many fun things to follow. We really enjoyed our Fall festivities and I’m so excited for the upcoming holidays. I am regretting that we didn’t dress Adelyn up for Halloween this year but hopefully we will make up for that next year!
Another special part of this month was blessing out little Addy girl on November 19. We had a lot of family in town for Thanksgiving and it was so sweet to share the day with family and friends. I’m going to write a blog post specifically dedicated to the blessing day itself, so stay tuned for that and a LOT more pictures of Addy in her cute dress!
