Adelyn’s Blessing Day
Addy’s blessing day was so special for us and we loved sharing it with so many people we love. We held off blessing her until a lot of my family came into town for Thanksgiving and I’m glad we did it that way because it was so special to me to have my dad and brothers in the prayer circle. Matt gave her the sweetest blessing and Adelyn was perfectly content for the whole thing. That was a big blessing for me because I was so worried that she was going to cry.
My Dad later recalled that he opened his eyes for a little bit during the blessing to peak at Adelyn and she was just staring at Matt with the biggest smile on her face. It was an incredibly special moment for him and a sweet memory from the day that I will hold on to.
I have some sweet notes from the blessing for my own keeping but one part that really stood out to me was how Matt said a few times that she would be happy and joyful in her life and that she would be good at making others happy. (I’m obviously can’t word it as eloquently as it was worded in her blessing, but the idea is there.)
That is something about Adelyn that I have felt from the beginning, she has a gift for making people feel happy. She just has such a sweet, happy spirit about her. I am so excited to see her grow up and see the person she becomes. We are so fortunate to have her in our family!
*I’m sure that many of my friends don’t know what a baby blessing is and so this post probably doesn’t make a lot of sense. If you would like to learn more about it, I feel like THIS helps to explain it all in further detail. You can read the section “Naming and Blessing Children” for more information ❤️
