Adelyn Rose at 3 months
December 22, 2017- January 22, 2018
Age 3-4 months has been my very favorite for our little Adelyn! She really started to interact with the world around her and I love seeing her little personality develop. I feel like it is just going to get more and more fun from here 😊
At 4 months Addy is 25 inches tall (57 percentile), weighs 14 lbs 6 oz (51st) and slowly growing into her head 😂 (now 93 percentile vs 97 at 2 Months). She is wearing size 2 diapers and is consistently wearing 3-6 month clothes- but sometimes I try and squeeze her in some of her cute 3 month clothes. It’s so sad when they outgrow those 😢
Some things I want to remember about this stage:
-Swinging her arms and kicking her legs when you go to pick her up from her bed.
-“Talking” herself to sleep
-How she’ll quietly sit on my lap while I walk her and read books
-Rolling over on to her side
-All of her neck stretches to help with her torticollis
-How everyone oo-ed and aw-ed when they met her at Christmas
-Her goopy left eye that refuses to clear up
-How ticklish she is- she’ll scrunch her shoulders and wince. She’s not sure if she should laugh or cry
-Always trying to fit fists in her mouth
-How much she loves her butterfly toy
-Grabbing her play mat toys
-Sucking on clothes, toys, fingers, blankets to fall asleep but refuses a binky
-The one arm constantly moving and grabbing things while nursing
-How darn cute she is in her snowbunny suit
-The Santa hat that kept falling over her eyes… over and over again.
We celebrated her 3 month mark by driving to Fresno for Christmas!! Originally we were going to try and do the 12+ hour drive all in one day, but we turned it into a little adventure and split the drive by staying the night in Las Vegas.
Addy proved to be a wonderful travel baby (8 hours in the car was her MAX, though) and she slept great both in the hotel and at the McLelland’s.
Christmas was the first time for many of the McLellands to meet Addy and so that was really special! She was an especially huge hit with Great Grandma Dawna, Grandma and Grandpa, and her only other girl cousin on the McLelland side, Sadie. Celebrating Christmas with an infant was way more fun than I thought it would be and I found myself regretting that I didn’t buy her any gifts. Oh well! I guess she won’t remember it anyways! She sure looked adorable and festive in her Santa Suit, though!
Tragedy struck when EVERYONE at Christmas came down with a terrible Flu/Bronchitis bug and it was really sad when family members couldn’t enjoy their time with her. Somehow Adelyn stayed healthy through the whole ordeal which is honestly such a miracle. She really is such a happy, healthy babe.
In January we celebrated Matthew’s 26th birthday and the 1 year anniversary of us finding out I was pregnant! I wish I could go back in time and tell my crying, panicked self that it was all going to be SO much more than okay! Adelyn ads such a sweet spirit to our family with her cute babble and sweet smile.
She is such a good baby, so easy going, and loves to be out and about looking at new things. If she is really cranky all I need to do is strap her in her car seat and go to the store or go for a walk and she is instantly content. I’m glad she and I share the need to be out of the house and exploring- I know there are great adventures in store for us!
Right in the beginning of January we started physical therapy for Adelyn’s torticollis. She has had a hard time turning her head to the left and also has a bit of a kinked neck that we have been working really hard on.
We are trying to avoid her having to wear a helmet to help shape her head. She usually hates her stretches and tummy time but is getting much better and we are really happy with the progress she is making! We are excited to welcome two more little friends for Addy in February! Being pregnant/having babies with your best friends is awesome. 10/10 would recommend!!
