Adelyn Rose at 7 Months
April 22, 2018- May 22, 2018
Boy oh Boy what a month! This little girl is growing by leaps and bounds and I feel like this post is going to be SO long with me just trying to document everything. Every day while Matt is playing with Addy he say’s “Wow she is so big!” or “She’s like a little person and not a baby” which is all just so true. She has hit a few major developmental milestones and I love watching her grow into her own little person.
Developments of this month:
-How to click her tongue and responds when you click yours.
-Clapping her hands and shouting.
-Waves a lot but is still doesn’t get the point of it.
-Eating solids a LOT more regularly and super interested in trying anything I am eating
-Will still never take a bottle but likes to suck through straws
-Strong “likes” and “dislikes” and definite preferences with toys, people, food, activities, etc. Ohhhh boy.
-Has the army crawl down and is ALL over the place. It’s so sad to see the little rug burns on her arms and legs but she is still quite content army crawling and not even trying to get up on her knees. The first time she ever army crawled it was to get to Maggie so I guess we know who she loves best in this house.
-She has quite the giggle but only if cousin Sadie is around. She doesn’t think Mom and Dad are funny at all!
-She is now sleeping in her crib in the nursery! This is huge (more for me than for her)- If only she was sleeping through the night.
-She has a lot of blondish hair growing in and I’m LOVING it. She also is tanning a little bit (definitely didn’t get her daddy’s skin and hair) and has the cutest tan lines in her roll creases.
-She is BIG on making noise! She loves anything that rattles, squeaks, or claps. Her favorite toy in our house is the door stopper next to her box of toys. Never buying her more toys…
-She totally knows her name and responds when you talk to her. It’s fun to see her more aware of what is going on around her.
-Addy is also a little weary of strangers which I am working on with her but also I secretly love that I’m always her go to place of comfort.
We have been LOVING this beautiful Spring weather. It’s so fun to get outside and to dress her in less clothes- I know that sounds funny but I love seeing her ROLLLLLSSSSS. The pictures above were taken at the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. The picture of her in the Dutch shoe is a new an all-time favorite.
Below we just have some more pictures of us enjoying the beautiful weather. Late Spring (because early Spring is an unpredictable nightmare) is when I fall in love with Utah all over again.
It’s been extra fun to see Addy interact WAY more with her toys and dogs. She also loves turning the pages of books and is easily entertained with any random object.
Addy has been going to Therapy for her torticollis since she was 3 months old and she “graduated” the day before she turned 8 months! It’s been an annoying struggle but I’m just so proud of how far we have all come. We absolutely loved our pediatric physical therapist so if you live in Utah Valley- I highly suggest Benjamin Norton!
We also got to go to California for Mother’s Day to surprise Matt’s family! They had only seen Addy once at Christmas time and so a visit was way past due. Addy was great in the car and did well with all the new faces and a bit of chaos 😉
I also loved spending my first Mother’s Day surrounded by family. I feel so blessed to be this little girl’s mom. She is pure joy!
And a few “just because” photos!
